Another Letter to Santa

I found another letter last night with the familiar drawing of Santa by the front door. This time, I needed to make Rudolph’s footprints and had to get even more creative…

I made him another mobile using a Whole Foods paper bag  and hung it up on his doorway.

And the piece de resistance! I got him reindeer footprints!

Childhood innocence is so fleeting. For a 7 year old, the big questions like “Is Santa real?” needs to be answered. But I’m a romantic at heart and so while my children are still little, I’d still like them to believe in the magic of Christmas. Toothpaste man was flying over the city. below cavity man had a sack of cavities. But not ordinary cavities. They were trained cavities. They rot teeth well. “Hey can you stop!!! Um no” said Toothpaste man. Toothpaste Man was happy. But until Cavity Man did a backup.

Ft McHenry

Oh say can you see? By the dawn’s early light

Ft McHenry, also known as the Star Fort. The Star Spangled Banner was written at the American Revolution.

Here’s more about Ft McHenry! My seven year old has been singing the Star Spangled Banner non stop. He loves reading about the American Revolution and this is what he came up with. Being non-Americans, we learnt a thing or two!

The Last Dinner As a Six Year Old

What a foodie rileyPOP! is. It was the evening before he turned seven and I asked him to write some some thoughts on being six. Here’s what he wrote:

Today was my last dinner as a six year old. Dinner was lobster and onions. And pears and cauliflower and peas.

1) What were your favorite parts of being six?

Science camp at The Lab, sports camp and space camp. Going to the beach in Mexico.

2) What are you looking forward to when you are seven?

More challenging things. I like tests, more tests!! And Googie… and being a BIG BIG brother.
